In order to differentiate an atom, you have to know the number of protons they have. A hydrogen atom has only one proton while a carbon atom has 12. The chemical bond of more than one atom is called molecules. Depending on the chemical properties, the type of bonds in a molecule is defined. It is through the bond of the atoms that you will determine its physical properties like solid, liquid or gas.

The one that has a lesser amount is known s the solute, and the one which has more is the solvent. In a sea water solution, the salt is the solute while the water is the solution. Solutions which have the same positive and negative region will dissolve each other while those who have different regions will not.
